Our school day is structured to accommodate an earlier finish on Fridays without reducing any face-to-face teaching time, and in line with the DFE guidance for 32.5 hours. By doing so, we are able to effectively implement our Leadership Academy CPD program, aimed at providing the best possible education for our pupils.
To ensure the safety and convenience of everyone, we kindly request parents to be punctual during drop-off and pick-up times. This helps minimise the number of parents and pupils in the school area, promoting a swift and smooth flow of activities.
For the benefit of all students, we advise children not to arrive at school before the gate opens, unless they are attending a before-school activity or our Before School Club (Woody’s), which starts at 7.30am.
During the school day, there is a 15-minute morning break to provide students with a chance to relax and recharge.
Throughout the week, we come together as a school during assembly times, with our celebration assembly taking place every Friday, recognising the achievements and successes of children at Westwood.
