There are many ways in which parents or carers can help the learning of children at home. To get a personalised view of what would be useful, ask your child’s class teacher what would be most useful. Something that is always beneficial is reading, so if this can be established as a regular, shared activity in which the children are asked questions about what they have read, that would have a positive effect that crosses over into other areas of learning e.g. the more widespread the reading, the more ideas for composition, vocabulary, use of punctuation and sentence types in writing.
