Year 3

This term in 3D we will be looking at ‘Animals including Humans’ in Science – our class trip to Rainham Marshes is linked to this and will complement the children’s learning and investigations.

Our History topic is ‘The Vikings’, some of the children have already started working on this as part of their optional homework.

During Art and DT we will continue to develop our drawing skills, focusing on pattern, textiles and the work of William Morris.

Literacy over the whole term will find us focusing on the structure of our writing, learning and writing poetry and developing grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.

Our Math’s work continues to focus on developing Math’s concepts progressively in order provide the children with frequent opportunities to consolidate their previous learning in all aspects of the Math’s curriculum.

Specific topics will be:

  • Time, including telling and writing the time.
  • Properties of 2D shape.
  • Angles.

In computing we will be learning about E-safety and practising our research skills.
