The school operates a nursery for children from age 2, and a reception class for 4 year olds.
Key stage 1 consists of years 1 and 2 for pupils aged 5-7.
Key stage 2 provision spans years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Please look at our home page to see if there are any spaces at Westwood currently.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed, subject to public health conditions (for example, visits have been suspended during the coronavirus pandemic). We usually hold open mornings for parents to visit the school in the autumn term so that they can get a feel for the atmosphere and ethos of Westwood, to help in the decision making process when choosing a school for their children. When this is not possible, we will provide an alternative method for prospective parents to get to know the school. This will be published at this link.
Essex County Council coordinates admissions to the school. They can be contacted at 0845 603 2200. Applications can be completed on line at www.essex.gov.uk/admissions
The number to admit is 30.
Under the s234 of the Education Act 1996 , the governing body is required to admit a child with a statement of Special Educational Needs that names the school.
In the event of oversubscription places will be allocated using the following criteria in the order given;
- Looked After Children;
- Children living in the priority admissions area with a sibling attending the school;
- Children living outside the priority admissions area with a sibling attending the school;
- Other children living in the priority admissions area;
- Remaining applications.
In the event of over-subscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to school, those living closest being given highest priority.

Paper copies of information and policies are available on request, for free, from the school office.
